 Why my air con noisy ? 

- for window air con, there are one unit of the air con, if there are some noisy, you are turn that to slow / quiet mode and check which part create the sound, found that and ask technician come and help with that. 

> most of the time , the issue is fm the fan blade broken

-for split air con, there are three common parts create noisy

> indoor fan blade, replace it can solve the problem 

> indoor fan motor, replace or put WD40 can help with this issue 

> loose case will create noisy while air con is on, install the case properly solve the problem.

Why my air con smell?

- check filter, might be too dirty

> take filter out clean it and put it back , proper cleaning every 12 months 

- check condensation tray, condensation might be stay there for two long and smell, clean condensation try will solve this problem, but we suggest you ask professional to process the job. 

Why my air con not turn on ?

- check power, if there has no power come fm supply side, the air con will not turn on. 

> check MCB fuse and power switch 

- check remote, sometime if the remote is out of battery , the air con reception sensor will be able to receive the instruction, so it won't work 

> use your phone to check the remote / use other remote, check battery of the remote

One of our customer told us, there's smell from the air con we cleaned few months ago. He told us yesterday while he turn on the air con , the air con has a moldy smell come out from the indoor unit. But in this few months he has never use this unit which locate in the guest's room. 

After the inspection, we did not find any dirt on top of the air con unit, The fan of the indoor unit is clean, the coil and water tray also clean. So we turn the unit is heating mode and spray disaffection alcohol on the coil and let it run for 5 - 10 mins, the alcohol kills the mold inside machine and it won't hurt the coil. 

To avoid smell problem happen like above, you could switch your air con on even two week for 30 mins in dry mode. (no condensation while u turn that on dry mode)

Air con on for 1 minute and turn off by itself - Air conditioner repair

Our customer is using a cassette type air con and after replace insulation foam, the air con switch off by itself after 1 min, we found out the signal wire is not working properly so it can;t tell the outdoor compressor to run. For the auto protection function, the indoor machine send signal to circuit board to stop the unit. The error fm the machine show " E1" error, which could be few reasons. After we replace new wire , the problem solve. The air con work again. 

How To Identify Your Air conditioner - Heating and Cooling System (Hong Kong)

Is my Air conditioner Heating & cooling or only cooling ? 

Recently, One of our customer told us her air con is not generate heat air during this cool weather. So we went to her place to check the air con, we found her air con function are Dry/ Fan / Cooling. There is no heating function of this unit. Mostly the air con in Hong Kong market is cooling only because of the long summer. 

To find the type (heating & cooling , Only cooling) of your air con 

1: there has  information label of your air conditioner at the left hand side/ bottom to tell you the model number of this unit. You could check the model number online to find out the what function your air con provide. 

2: In the label above, it usually tell you what the cooling capacitor it has provide every hour, if it only said cooling function, and did not mention heating. That means it is cooling only. 

3: For heating and cooling air conditioner, the outdoor air con require a water tray to hold condensation, so if you see there are water pipe at the outdoor unit, it mostly is a cooling and heating unit.(a small amount customer also install water tray for their outdoor unit because it was too rusty)

Our customer told us, the air con has noisy during middle of the night, he turn the machine off and after a while he switch on the noisy come again. 

To find out where the noise come from,  first - find out it is fm indoor or outdoor unit and check which parts cause the noise and replace that 

Environmental friendly freon - R32 (Hong Kong AC)

 R32 freon air con - Hong Kong air conditioner

R22 freon 

At the beginning of 1990, most of the air conditioner is using R22 freon gas / refrigerator for their air con. The advatange of R22 freon is low pressure, in full load condition the pressure is around 60psi/ 1.73 MPA. 

The ODP of R22 freon is 0.055, it is non-flammable freon. 

R410 freon 

By 2010, R410 freon air conditioner start being promoted by gov/ shop, it is because the ODP is 0. R410 is also none -flammable freon. 

R32 freon

By 2020, lot of company promote R32 freon air con and Hong Kong government is not allow shop import R410 air con in 2025. It means most of the air con will be using R32 freon. 

The advantage of R32 freon are, 

- The ODP is 0 

- GWP is 675, - the lowest compare with r22/r410 

The dis-advantage of R32 freon air con 

- it belongs to A2L grade - MILDLY FLAMMABLE GAS, should not install in kitchen area
