Split type air conditioner cleaning and servicing - Kennedy Town Hong Kong

We have been requested by a customer to clean a split type aircon in Kennedy Town. After we spoke with our customer, she mentioned that the aircon leaks sometimes at the indoor unit of the aircon. 

The technician arrived her place and checked the aircon and started the cleaning process. They found that the open kitchen/cooking caused the leaks. It is because of the oil/smoke from the stove while cooking stuck in the (aircon) water pipe. The aircon now works fine after technician used a special spray to clean the aircon and pipe. 

If you have aircon installed in your kitchen. We suggest that you always switch on the ventilation fan before and while you are cooking and ask a professional to clean your aircon every 12 months.

Air con leaks 

If your air con leaks water from the indoor unit and you try to clean the filter/indoor unit but it still leaks. It is the time for you to check the drain line/water pipe.

Pipe stuck(clogged drain line) with dirt is one of the common reason cause air con leaks from our experience.  While the drain line is stopped up and water cannot drain from the overflow pan then out through the pipe.

To solve this problem, you can use check the tubing for dirt , if you feel resistance, try to clear the blockage. It might solve your air con leaks problem.

Why my Air conditioner is making a loud Noise? - YuenLong/Hong Kong

There are few reasons cause the noise from your air conditioner 

•        Air conditioner compressor has problem
•        Fan motor not function well
•        Some parts/screw loose inside the air conditioner

If the air con compressor create lots of noise, check the outdoor unit and replace the compressor might solve this problem.

If the fan motor make a lot of noise while the air con start running, check is there anything block the fan, if not, try to replace the fan motor might solve the problem.

If the noise is from the loose parts, tight the parts/screw it back to the right position can solve the problem.

How often should I clean the air conditioner filter?

Air con Filter (HK) 

The purpose of the filter is to remove the dust and dirt from the air before it go into the unit.  Dirt & dust can clog up the evaporator coil, the blower wheel and motor. 

Filter should be cleaned at least every month when dirty or dusty condition are present. Any air bypassing the filter takes dirt into the system. This is why filter clogged with dirt and the system will need to be cleaned. For cleaning the coil, blower wheel system, we suggest customer clean it once every year. 

The Benefit of cleaning your air con & air con filter, 

- It can allow the correct amount of air to flow through the unit, you can have clean and cool air. 

- A good condition air con system save some of your electricity bill.
