Landlords, when should I clean the air con? - air con cleaning Hong Kong
We have a customer ask our team to clean the air conditioner as soon as her tenant move out. By asking the detail, we found she has the timber technicians come the day after. So we suggest her do the air con cleaning later. The reason is while they do the timber work or paint the dust will go inside the air con. So it seems not the good timing to do that.
A lot of the time, when our tenant move away we will touch up / repair / fix the apartment before the next tenant move in. In this case, we increase our chance to get a better tenant and higher rent.
So we usually check
- lock, ceiling, light, switch, carpet/tile/timer, window, leaks, tap, cabinet, stove, toilet..
For air con cleaning only(AC works), we can do that almost the last before the tenant move in.
But if the air con is not working, then we should ask technician check it and see do we need to replace it or not. If yes, we should do this job before the painter come in.
The reasons:
- some air conditioner has build-in pipe, so Air con technician might need to drill the wall when they replace air con.
- you might want to change a bigger or smaller air con, which will affect the wall
- you might want to change the position of the air con, so painter can touch up the existing area.
