Why our air con starting to smell bad ? - Part 1
There are few reasons why our air con has bad smell,
1: Dirty coil or clogged drain
Both issues could be the main reason. While the air con producing cold air, it absorb the dust into the indoor unit, the dust stuck inside the coil part and become jelly / mold. The solution is a professional air con cleaning and improve drainage.2: Smoke/ Odors
If someone smoke inside the house a lot, the odor could stay in the filter and the coil. While you switch on the air con, you may smell stale of cigarette.Cleaning the filter once a month or smoke outside the house is a solution.
3: Open kitchen
