Cleaning and disinfection of fan-coil room ventilation units - Hong Kong
A Fan-Coil unit is room ventilation device with more than one blowers. Air filter on the outdoor air and taking in and recirculate the air entry and remove insects and airborne dirt particles.
Blower speed and thermostat control the room temperature and blow fresh air onto the house. And the drain parts connect the condensate water to prevent the water fm the pan and provide a source of microbes.
So lot of dirt , dust and fibers collect on all surface inside the fan-coil parts. It cause the blower become dirt crusted thus reducing speed, which will cause higher bills. It affect the performance of the heating and cooling. The filter also become dirt filled and need to be replaced before microbial growth occurs.
Inspection and proper cleaning should be performed once per year before the summer season. During the inspection, if tube/ drain is dirty/microbial grown/mold appear. Disinfection Tablet will be very helpful in this situation.
The function of disinfection tablet :
It act as germicide, it kill bacteria, fungi, algae and mold . It helps keep the drain pan & equipment clean, low dose performance.
