Different freon are using different pressure to operate it.
For R22, the require pressure is 60pound while it run
For R410, the require pressure is 120p,
For R32, the require pressure is also 120p.
Recently, lots of customer ask us can we use existing gas pipe to install the new air con system, the answer is we need to test and no warranty for the installation if the gas leaks in the future.
As we can see the require of the R22 only using 60 pound , but for the new freon it require double the pressure.
R22 is require thinner copper pipe, but R32 is require thicker pipe. If technician have joint / seal the pipe in between indoor and outdoor unit. It might have / create a gap when we use higher pressure in the system.
But we also understand so of the pipe is build-in the wall, it will be a big job to remove it. If you want to keep using the old pipe we will use freon measurement tool after we remove the air con, we will also test the pipe system, vacuum the freon inside the pipe before we install the new air con.
So far we had install around 5 air con using this method every year. As the result, the air con we install is working ok. But it is no warranty for the installation if we use this method.
